About Us

Based in Sheffield and established in 2019, VeganYarn.co.uk offer a range of plant-based, sustainably and ethically sourced fibers.

Our journey began from a love of indie dyed yarn, and a frustration of only being able to find it in animal based fibres. Of course there’s a lot of dyers offering cotton or bamboo bases alongside their wooly offerings, but we wanted to shop completely vegan…and so veganyarn.co.uk was born.

We endeavour to offer only ethically sourced fibres, and use no animal products in our whole production process. We do use some plastics but these are all reused and reclaimed, we certainly don’t wrap every skein in cling film as you’ll see on most YouTube tutorials!

All fibres can be purchased undyed or hand-dyed, painted or Speckled.

We source sustainble, ethical, and where possible, recycled fibres. We only use vegan products in our dying process and are opposed to the use of plastics both in our yarn and our packaging.

We understand many of our fibres may not be well known or widely used, and so if you have any questions about any of our fibres, or wish to request a sample, please Get in Touch. 

All of our photos are of the skeins we have in stock, and of course we aim to give the truest reflection of our colourways, however, as with all online products the exact colour you receive may vary from how it displays on your device.

We do not usually repeat colourways – once its gone its gone, but we can always try and do something similar – just ask!

If you are not happy with any aspect of your order please get in touch straight away. We want you to have an enjoyable experience purchasing our yarn and if for any reason you haven’t please let us put this right! We do ask that you contact us within 21 days of your yarn arriving.

All orders are sent via Royal Mail and are sent as a 48 hour signed for service. You pay £3.50 flat rate within the UK or postage is free on orders above £50. Orders are sent within 48 hours of you placing your order, excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays. Shipping to Europe costs £12.50

Our address to send any returns to is 46 Rig Drive, Swinton, S64 8UN. Please contact info@veganyarn.co.uk and we will reply within 48 hours (check your spam/junk folder).

International shipping is available and you will be able to choose your shipping option at the checkout. Unfortunately orders outside the EU cannot be processed on the website so please just contact us via email or instagram/facebook if you wish to place one.

A note about Veganyarn.com

Vegan Yarn (Canada) were established many years ago in Canada and are a wonderful company who we source our ‘Pleiades’ vegan sock yarn from, and our Aran weight tencel/cotton blend yarn. If you live in USA/Canada we highly recommend viewing their website rather than ours if you are looking for sock yarn as the shipping costs will be more reasonable and as the yarn won’t travel as far its better for the planet!
