Recycled Cotton

All our recycled cotton yarns are OKEO TEX certified and made from 100% recycled fibres.

Recycled cotton is soft, softer than Mercerised cotton but not as soft as Pima cotton. It doesn’t take colours as brightly as other cottons and has probably the most stretch – by this we mean don’t mean elasticity, we mean the cotton will grow once washed and worn – this can be lessened by reshaping while wet and storing your finished item flat/folded and not hung.

All our recycled cottons can be machine washed. We recommend reshaping while wet and drying flat.

We currently offer 3 weights of recycled cotton – Aran, DK and Sport.

Aran – 150m per 100g / 9 ply / 12 wpi (sold in 50g skeins)

DK – 200m per 100g / 16ply / 16 wpi (sold in 100g skeins)

Sport – 250m per 100g  / 5 ply / 19 wpi (sold in 50g skeins)

Some of our old colourways will only be available on certain bases but going forward we endeavor to offer each colourway on all 3 bases.
