Advent Shawl Pattern (Knit) 2021

The black and white picture will be replaced with a colour picture on Christmas Day to avoid spoiling it for those who have bought the advent.

The crochet pattern is here – https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/advent-shawl-for-vegan-yarns

You will need the code on your Advent tag to access this pattern for free. If you do not have this just message us.

This pattern is made for our 2021 advent calendar but can be made with 24 x 20g/44m (480g/1056m) of DK yarn.

The final size is approx 50cm x 160cm.

To achieve the effect please knit day one with day one yarn etc. You can change the order of the sections however as they all work with 20g of yarn.

All stitches are slipped purlwise.

Day 1:

On 3.75mm needles (we used circular needles but the garment is knit flat) cast on 106 stitches using a picot cast on.

(Instructions for Picot Cast On – CO 5 stitches, K2 ,Cast off 1, K1, Cast off 1, Put stitch back on left needle. Now *Cast on 4 stitches K2 CO1 k1 CO1, put 1 stitch back on left needle. Repeat from * until you have 105 stitches. Now CO 1 stitch=106 stitches)

All rows end with a stitch count of 106.

****EVERY ROW WILL NOW DO THE FOLLOWING but it will not be in the pattern. You just have to remember to do it for every single row except your cast off row. We recommend putting the stitch markers provided after the 3rd stitch, and before 3 stitches from the end to help remember.

You will ALWAYS knit the first 3 stitches to the marker. You will ALWAYS slip the last 3 stitches with yarn in FRONT
